KNOW YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE – AVOID COMPLICATION
What is blood pressure?
- Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of arteries while blood circulation which is caused by heart beat.
- Blood pressure is recorded as two numbers.
- The measurement is written one above or before the other, with the systolic number on top and the diastolic number on the bottom:-
- 120 / 80 mmHg
- 120 / 80 mmHg
- On top number (120) or systolic number shows pressure on the wall of arteries caused by heart beat.
- The pressure is also known as systolic pressure.
- The pressure is also known as systolic pressure.
- On the bottom number (80) or diastolic number shows pressure while the heart relaxes between beats.
- The pressure is also known as diastolic pressure
- The pressure is also known as diastolic pressure
- The best time to measure blood pressure is when we relaxing and while sit or lie down.
The Changes in Blood Pressure
- The rate of blood pressure is always inconsistent which will changes according to our body need.
- If our blood pressures are high, doctors need to examine us many times in order to determine our actual blood pressure.
What is High Blood Pressure (HBP)?
- If the rate of blood pressure is always higher more than normal rate of blood pressure in a long period of time, this condition will be known as High Blood Pressure (HBP).
- Optimum Blood Pressure => 130 / 80 mmH
- High Blood Pressure => More than 130 / 85 mmHg.
- Optimum Blood Pressure => 130 / 80 mmH
- For example, if pressure is more than 180 / 110 mmHg, the rate of blood pressure is too high.
The Effect of High Blood Pressure
- If the blood pressure stays high, it can cause complication like:
- Heart Attack
- Stroke
- Heart Failure
- Kidney Damage

If the Optimum Blood Pressure is 130 / 80 mmHg
- We need to keep controlling our blood pressure by:
- Checking our blood pressure periodically;
- 2 times a year if it rates is normal.
- More often if the blood pressure rate is high or if we have family members who have high blood pressure, stroke or heart attack.
- 2 times a year if it rates is normal.
- Take our meal in healthy ways by reducing in taking:-
- Salt
- Salt excessive in blood can cause moe water to be stored in it which can increase the blood pressure.
- Salt excessive in blood can cause moe water to be stored in it which can increase the blood pressure.
- Fats
- Fats excessive will cause fats to gather around the wall of pulse stream and make it thicker and tighter.
- Fats excessive will cause fats to gather around the wall of pulse stream and make it thicker and tighter.
- Salt
- Keep a good and superior body weight.
- Exercise periodically.
- Avoid in taking alcohols.
- Checking our blood pressure periodically;
If We Have High Blood Pressure:-
- Take medicines periodically as told.
- Don't stop taking madicines without been told by doctor or pharmacist
- Make appoinment with doctor periodically in order to control blood pressure

KNOW YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE – AVOID COMPLICATION
What is blood pressure?
v Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of arteries while blood circulation which is caused by heart beat.
How blood pressure is measured?
v Blood pressure is recorded as two numbers.
v The measurement is written one above or before the other, with the systolic number on top and the diastolic number on the bottom:-
Ø 120 / 80 mmHg
v On top number (120) or systolic number shows pressure on the wall of arteries caused by heart beat.
Ø The pressure is also known as systolic pressure.
v On the bottom number (80) or diastolic number shows pressure while the heart relaxes between beats.
Ø The pressure is also known as diastolic pressure.
v The best time to measure blood pressure is when we relaxing and while sit or lie down.
The Changes in Blood Pressure
v The rate of blood pressure is always inconsistent which will changes according to our body need.
v If our blood pressures are high, doctors need to examine us many times in order to determine our actual blood pressure.
What is High Blood Pressure (HBP)?
v If the rate of blood pressure is always higher more than normal rate of blood pressure in a long period of time, this condition will be known as High Blood Pressure (HBP).
Ø Optimum Blood Pressure => 130 / 80 mmHg
Ø High Blood Pressure => More than 130 / 85 mmHg.
ü For example, if pressure is more than 180 / 110 mmHg, the rate of blood pressure is too high.
The Effect of High Blood Pressure
v If the blood pressure stays high, it can cause complication like:
Ø Heart Attack
Ø Stroke
Ø Heart Failure
Ø Kidney Damage
If the Optimum Blood Pressure is 130 / 80 mmHg
v We need to keep controlling our blood pressure by :
Ø Checking our blood pressure periodically;
ü 2 times a year if it rates is normal.
ü More often if the blood pressure rate is high or if we have family members who have high blood pressure, stroke or heart attack.
v Not Smoking
Ø Nicotine from cigarettes smoke will enter blood and caused heart to beat faster.
Ø Nicotine also narrows the soft pulse blood stream and force the heart to pump harder.
v Take our meal in healthy ways, by reducing in taking:-
Ø Salt
ü Salt excessive in blood can cause more water to be stored in it which can increase the blood pressure.
Ø Fats
ü Fats excessive will cause fats to gather around of the wall of pulse stream and make it thicker and tighter.
v Keep a good and superior body weight.
v Exercise periodically.
v Avoid in taking alcohols.
